Laser Engraving / Bespoke Manufacturing
Small scale customisation and design services can be provided from our workshop:
- Professional fibre laser engraving, specialising in smooth black annealing on stainless steel lift fixtures and signage. Client fixtures can be laser marked.
- Customised equipment data tags or labelling, or customised promotional gifts (pens / tumblers / keychains)
- Custom fit bezels with custom designations
- 3D IR/Laser scanning, CAD, supporting 3D printed or machined replication of small scale parts and prototypes
- CNC routing machined custom landing fixture frames, installation templates and jigs, or similar
Specialist equipment includes:
- 100W MOPA Galvo Fibre Laser – all metals and painted materials for thin cutting or laser marking / engraving up to 300x300mm. Laser cleaning of rust of small parts.
- 3D printers supporting ASA, ABS, TPU, PLA and PETG to 300x300x300
- 3D Blue laser and IR scanner for CAD reverse engineering
- CNC router to 800 x 1500 x 40 mm
Louis frequently delivers this construction consultancy service across major national projects for builders. This active monitoring support has proven to avoid project delays and increase project quality, safety and contractor accountability to deliver on programme.
Regular site visits, with each visit comprising of:
- Visits to the areas of each active lift / escalator installation / modernisation such as lift shafts, storage areas, machine rooms, and controller rooms
- Discussions with the lift contractor’s representatives and the project team to ascertain the project progress and any issues that may cause a delay
- Observations to see that the works are being carried out in a safe manner
- Where the schedule allows during the day of the site visit, attendance at building services coordination meetings where lifts are on the agenda
A detailed report consisting of:
- A summary of each lift’s installation progress, and an opinion on whether progress appears to be tracking according to the supplied schedule.Identified risks to scheduled completion
- Observed defects and quality observationsSafety recommendations and observationsSummary of closed or outstanding items from previous visits

Louis can provide for expert reviews in the early planning stages of a construction project. This can be an additional level of local expert support to build on any existing specification or design.
The review will be informed by:
- VT shop drawings and associated documents
- VT contracted scope of works, as tendered and agreed
- Performance Specification in relation to the required work
- Architectural drawings as relevant
- Installation programme details
Reviews are further supported by discussions with the lift contractor’s representatives and the project team to form a complete understanding of the project and installation programme
A report is issued covering observed issues such as discrepancies, ambiguous or unclarified scope of works, conflicting documentation, and onerous requirements based on the available documentation from all relevant parties.
Additionally:
- Provide any value engineering recommendations
- Provide any safety improvement recommendations
- Attendance via online meetings e.g. not including national travel
